The Parables

Unlocking the Mystery Stories of Jesus

This four-week message series unlocks the mystery of Jesus’ parables and helps teenagers apply them to their own lives. These interactive teaching messages get kids talking and working together as they participate in Scripture. The messages are filled with activities, discussion questions, and life applications that are sure to make the points stick.

Jesus used parables so his listeners could easily understand the kingdom of heaven—and how it’s different from life on earth. In today’s digital, high-tech environment, those stories have lost some of their meaning in translation. By putting teenagers back into the story, Jesus’ message comes alive once again.

Good vs. Evil

As you explore Jesus’ parables about yeast, teenagers will discover how destructive a little bit of sin can be. Watch young people explore the great things that can result in their lives when they use their bodies and gifts for Jesus and his glory.

Verses: Leviticus 2:11; Matthew 16:11-12; Matthew 13:31-33

Powerful Influence

Teenagers will uncover the truth that Jesus’ kingdom is exclusive to people who believe in him. See young people empowered to be like yeast and have a mighty influence for Jesus in their interactions with others.

Verses: Matthew 13:24-50

Farming Lessons

Explore Jesus’ teaching about seeds and soils, and watch as teenagers discover what’s required for faith growth. Kids will come alive as they discuss ways of “receiving” Jesus and his message—and learn what Jesus’ parables say about him.

Verses: Mark 4:1-20

Good Neighbors

Teenagers will get involved in this message by creating a video about Jesus’ parable of the good Samaritan. By examining the ways Jesus is a good neighbor to us, kids will evaluate ways they can be better neighbors in their own communities.

Verses: Mark 12:28-34; Luke 10:30-37

Every new account includes one year of access to the online tool that delivers curriculum and helps you manage your leaders ($99 value).

With our online management system, planning your small groups has never been easier. You can follow our road map and choose which lessons to teach and when. But you aren’t limited to just one schedule! You can set separate calendars if you want different groups to study different lessons.

Once you set a schedule, you can make assignments to small-group leaders so they know exactly what they’re teaching. All they have to do is log into the Live Curriculum using their own account created by you. Not only will leaders see what they’re teaching, but you can send them messages and share files you want them to have for small group.

And because the system’s online, it’s always available so you and your leaders can prepare at your convenience.

Is anything easier than that?
